Sashiko will always hold a special place in our hearts. As is tradition, we have to bring at least one Kimono shirt from our friends at Naked & Famous. This year they made our decisions tough as all of the fabrics were beautiful. But to us, nothing quite stood out like this double-faced Sashiko Gauze. Sashiko style was developed as a style of geometric stitching repair. Over time, it took on new meanings as the stitching became a fabric within itself. This baby is deep indigo on the outside and a gorgeous cobalt blue on the inside. Just wait until this beauty fades. It'll blow your cap off.
The Kimono Shirt is a shirt cut in the fashion of the Japanese Noragi: open-front, straight silhouette, front-tie closure. The Noragi were symbols of poverty in Japan. Farmers would wear and repair them to last decades. They have become symbols of Japan's horticultural past striking a deep contrast with Japan's present: a world leader in technology. Cut and sewn in Canada.

Fit Notes: The Kimono shirt is a pretty open-fitting style. You can kind of get away with a range of sizing. Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size Medium in the pictures. This is his preferred size as it leaves him a little extra room in the arms and body for layering. Tommy is 5'10," 170lbs, with a 40" chest.
